Alcoholism:The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.Dual Diagnosis:Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person\'s mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.Mental Health and Substance Abuse:A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.Opioid Addiction:Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Outpatient:For new clients, or clients who have received services in the past and are returning. Available services, attendance, treatment planning policies and basic drug and alcohol information are discussed. Initial paperwork is completed and consumers are scheduled for assessment.Aftercare Support:Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn\'t spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).Intensive Outpatient:Group uses the Matrix Model Intensive Outpatient Alcohol & Drug Treatment Program. This is an open group that works to assist participants in better understanding how their drug and/or alcohol use has changed the way their brain functions. Addiction is described in words that participants can understand and the topics/activities are designed to help participants understand how to deal with the changes in ways that are most likely to lead to long-term sobriety. Motivational Interviewing is the primary style of working with participants in this group.
Group Therapy:Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.Individual Therapy:In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Individual counseling focuses more directly on symptom management and skill building to improve issues such as attention difficulties, anger and irritability, peer conflict, self-esteem, substance use, depression, anxiety, and overall coping skills.Life Skills:The Life Skills Group is designed to assist clients in making positive changes in their lives through appropriate coping skills, focusing and working on self-worth, life management tools and spirituality. Group facilitator supervises the material and insures compliance and gives feedback to assist clients in identifying areas of managing their lifestyles. When clients have completed their appropriate number of group sessions they will be able to identify where they have made progress in the areas of coping skills, self-worth, life management and spirituality and be able to verbalize these during their treatment process and in continued recovery.Motivational Interviewing:The Motivational Interviewing Approach assists participants in increasing their awareness of the problem and the solution. Participants of Motivational Interviewing reinforces preparation to change, action and maintenance behavioral change. This approach has proven successful in working with a variety of populations who present a range of issues in the clinical arena, in particular substance abuse and addiction.
